It sold lots of records to the cult-like fanbase, and all the trendy posers who only liked him because he was young and new are gone.
People older than 25 (Slash's core audience) don't listen to new music. And people in general aren't paying for music anymore, aside from little kids with lots of disposable income. For Slash to have a strong first week in 2010 is really good. The fact that he did it without pandering to the country audience or the Springsteen-listening Soccer moms is amazing.
well, slash debut album dropped to #33 this week. in its third week. on the only chart that matters in the biz: the billboard top 200 album chart. in its second week, slash debut album was #15. the album itself debut #3 on first week. it's gone from #3 to #15 to #33. going on the same backward slide chinese democracy went on. that's damn sure frustrating. cause slash' debut album is the best rock album since Use Your Illusion 1 and 2
